Careful workmanship emphasizes respect for the Blessed Sacrament and the dignity of the ciborium used to store consecrated altar bread.

PAX means “peace.” It recalls the peace that comes from Christ and is present in the Church’s liturgy. The design connects this symbolism with a direct reference to the Eucharist. The vine leaves and grapes refer to Eucharistic wine and Christ’s words about the true vine.

In the liturgy, this color represents love, Christ’s Sacrifice, the fire of the Holy Spirit, and martyrdom. It is particularly fitting for celebrations of the Passion of Christ, Pentecost, and commemorations of martyrs.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0759/3951/2604/files/kwe_002_c_02_45cm-red-ciborium-veil-1.jpg?v=1791198799
