Chasuble color, fabric and set
- Color: ecru / light cream, combined with gold details.
- Fabric: subtly textured and lightly shimmering.
- Set contents: a matching priest stole.
Embroidery, collar and cut
The wide collar is made from gold fabric. It harmonizes with the embroidery and the delicate gold finish on the chasuble's edges. The classic cut drapes freely. The finished vestment has a dignified appearance and is well suited to solemn celebrations.
Liturgical use and motifs
It may be used during celebrations in the Christmas and Easter seasons, at feasts of the Lord and Marian feasts, and for memorials of saints who were not martyrs. Because of the pelican symbolism, it is particularly suitable for Eucharistic celebrations, including Holy Thursday, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), First Holy Communion, and other solemn Masses associated with the Eucharist.
In Christian art, the pelican is one of the traditional Eucharistic symbols. According to traditional symbolism, it feeds its offspring with its own blood. The image refers to Christ's sacrifice and the Eucharist, in which Christ gives himself to the faithful as food. The cross further emphasizes the Paschal and Eucharistic character of the symbolism.
