Purple Banner Printed on Both Sides with Christ and Our Lady

Printed on both sides, this purple banner presents a different religious image on each face. The Suffering Christ appears on one side, while Our Lady of Sorrows appears on the other.

Banner materials, dimensions and storage

• Fabric: velvet, 100% polyester
• Dimensions: 31.5 × 51 in (80 × 130 cm)
• Mounting: for mounting on a pole
• Packaging: a black case with a clear window, making storage and transport easier

The printed format makes the piece lightweight. It is comfortable to carry and practical during processions. It retains an elegant, solemn, dignified, formal appearance.

The two images and their decoration

One side shows the Suffering Christ wearing a crown of thorns. His pained, contemplative face is turned upward, giving the depiction a deeply Passion-centered character. The image is rendered in shades of gray. A decorative frame with silver botanical ornaments surrounds it, creating a contrast with the banner’s deep purple background.

On the other side, Our Lady of Sorrows appears with her head bowed and a sorrowful expression. The black-and-white image is enclosed by an ornamental frame with silver ornaments. Decorative silver fringe complements the purple background and completes the harmonious, dignified composition.

The finished piece presents well both during funeral processions and inside a church.

Funeral, processional and Lenten use

The piece can be used during funeral ceremonies, funeral processions, services for the deceased, and the observance of All Souls’ Day. It can also be used during the Stations of the Cross, Passion services, and observances during Lent and Holy Week.

The pole shown in the photograph is for presentation only. It is not included in the set. A pole can be purchased separately on our website.

The Suffering Christ symbolizes His Passion and sacrifice. The image of Mary refers to her suffering during the Passion and death of Jesus Christ. This image symbolizes maternal love, compassion, and hope during mourning. The religious symbolism and deep purple background emphasize the mournful and penitential character of the piece.
