Ciborium veil embroidery
The central embroidery is richly worked and presents an IHS monogram together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The two motifs form a distinct central composition. A radiant motif surrounds the Heart. Gold ornaments are distributed across the surface of the fabric and subtly complement the central embroidery.
The round form allows the fabric to drape softly and evenly around the ciborium. The result is an elegant, harmonious covering for the liturgical vessel. Delicate gold ornamentation finishes the edge. It harmonizes with the embroidery and emphasizes the solemn character of the piece.
Liturgical use
Carefully made, the veil is intended for liturgical use in churches, chapels, religious houses, and sacristies. It provides a dignified covering for the ciborium used to store the Blessed Sacrament. Its workmanship expresses respect for the Blessed Sacrament and the dignity of the vessel used to store consecrated altar bread.
The combination of IHS and the Sacred Heart of Jesus makes the piece particularly suitable for Eucharistic celebrations, the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, First Friday devotions, and other celebrations with a Christological character.
The IHS monogram refers to the name of Jesus and is one of the most recognizable Christian symbols. The Sacred Heart of Jesus symbolizes Christ's infinite love, mercy, and sacrifice for human salvation. The radiant motif around the Heart emphasizes Christ's glory and the spiritual dimension of the entire composition. The white fabric symbolizes purity, light, and holiness.
